I am absolutely certain I saw this ship as a teenager....I had, and still do, have a thing for over-plated bows! I think the trend began in the 1950s and I recall reading an article somewhere where a contemporary of that era bemoaned the new fashion...to me it made a ship look VERY grand and beautiful.
