Information update:: Site enhancements - Map

Over the course of the next few days, the map is going to get some radical new attention given to it. At present it is lacking some core functions:
to find a ship
to display ships heading to the Forth and the Clyde.
These two features will be added and the map will be widened in scope to allow you to see the following:
All ships near the Forth and Clyde entrances, plus ships within the listeners range that are bound for our two prime maritime ports.
If the above proves too complex a hybrid, then a search bar where you enter a destination or a ships imo will take you directly to the ships, or zoom out to show you all ships within the listener' remit, destined for home ports.
In either case, the search will be added.
This is a major upgrade and requires a lot of programming in the scripts, but I feel it is time the map became the source of all truth as much as the other sites functions. The map will have it's own dedicated full width page to make visibility better in all devices and to allow search features.
It's a delicate job but has been trialled in my own chart room, and as it works there, then I want you to share in the usefulness and ability to tell at a glance what is happening with all home bound ships our system can see.
