Falls of Clyde

Absolutely devastated that the FALLS OF CLYDE was taken from Honolulu Harbour and scuttled. What a disgraceful act by the authorities there. Many people and organisations, here in Scotland and abroad (a Norwegian company had even offered to transport her back to the Clyde free) had worked tirelessly to bring her home.
It appears bad faith was entirely with the Harbour Authority, wrangling with everyone over matters that would have disappeared had they simply just let all those with good will and capability simply to take the old sailing ship off their hands. Instead, after years of stupidity they then carry out this outrageous act of destruction (which must have cost them, so why they wrangled over costs when the solution was simple and cost free, we may never know)
So, a piece of world, not just Scottish, maritime history, has been lost through sheer petulance. She was loved abroad, and would have been loved back home. Words fail me.
